Softwares for a Fresh Windows

Ok. 99% of my friends have Windows operating system for whatever reason. Whenever they have to fresh install a Windows OS, they always ask me what softwares should they go with. This list contains the names of Softwares, I recommend them on their fresh OS. The list will contain both free and paid tools.

  1. IObit Advanced SystemCare :
People might think they don’t use their system too much. What’s the need of such a software then? Well, i’d say, it is you who is using your system lightly NOT your OS. Our OS keeps caching files into several directories which accumulate to be in size of GB. Not only this but there may be broken shortcuts, fragmented disks, spywares, bad registry and uninstallation leftovers etc. They all must be cleaned up.
  2. Telegram for Desktop :
WhatsApp is too slow in PC. Everyone must have felt it. This is where comes Telegram. Its server based file and chat storage makes it absolutely tension free to transfer the app to other devices. It is blazing fast and contains dark mode.. our favorite.
  3. Brave Browser :
No. Don’t. I said don’t. Do not install CHROME Browser in your PC. If you are a paranoid like me just google ‘evil practices of google chrome browser for data collection’.. rest you’ll know yourself. Go for Brave Browser instead. Firefox is another good option but I personally don’t like the layout of Firefox.
  4. Bitdefender Antivirus :
If for any reason you want to choose an antivirus. Go for Bitdefender. Kaspersky is also a good option but compare the awards won by both.. you’ll know what to choose. Besides Bitdefender is comparatively more lightweight. Now most important point.. why people don’t buy antiviruses is because they are way too costly and they don’t fit in their budget. Here is a solution for Indian users. If you try to buy BD AV from official website, you have to buy it at least for 5 devices. It is of no use for most of us obviously. So, go to Amazon IN, search for Bitdefender Antivirus 1 PC 1 year, you’ll get it way cheaper. For me it costed around one-fourth of the original price listed in the official website for 1 year of protection.
  5. VLC Media Player :
A lightweight yet very fast media player. I’m sure, most of us have been using it for years.
  6. Sumatra PDF Viewer :
Why Sumatra PDF? Why not Adobe? Sumatra is at least 100 times faster than any of the Adobe Product. It can render a 1000 page pdf in seconds no matter the page covers text or image. Worth a shot.
  7. Internet Download Manager :
Internet Download Manager is the best tool for Winows OS for downloading large files. Why it is different from default downloaders is because it allows multi-threading and is resume supported.
  8. EverNote :
A tool for creating notes. Notes are stored on the EverNote servers so they are safe even if our system gets corrupted or needs formatting.
  9. LastPass :
LastPass is really helpful tool if you don’t want to remember passwords or want to use random passwords for different website but can’t remember it. I have been using it for years and it has always met my expectations.
  10. TeamViewer (Optional):
Well, why TeamViewer is on the list? It’s a fresh install and my system can’t have a problem, right? That means you probably didn’t have to fresh install your OS because of an error. 90% of the people do it because they mess with the system settings or system files. Isn’t it always better to be prepared for such a situation? And who knows if your faulty system will allow to install a new software. What if it doesn’t? That is the reason i always keep the TeamViewer installed. Though, i don’t let its background processes run and also remove it from startup programs.

P.S: Some of these tools come with their web versions. It’s upon you what you want to choose.

I hope someone will find this list useful for one’s fresh installed Operating System.
